Our Monthly Event Debriefs summarize our involvement in data and IT events that take place all over the world.

January is finally finished, and let’s be real – most of our new year’s resolutions are already fading. But here at InterWorks, we like to think we’re doing just fine on the events side of things. So, here’s a quick recap! Our January events were filled with new Tableau updates and workshops.

OKC TUG – Hyperfest

We had a great time at the Oklahoma City Tableau User Group event rolling out the 10.5 update and highlighting the new data engine technology – Hyper. Tableau and InterWorks came together to host this event at the Dell EMC campus in OKC. InterWorks Analytics Consultant Kent Sloan and Dell EMC Advisor of Business Operations Guillermo Mendez-Kestler teamed up to share as much intel about the new update as possible before live-streaming with the Hyper development team.

When Guillermo first joined the OKC TUG in 2014, it was to learn more about Tableau. Now he likes to share what he has gained through the TUG. We talked with Guillermo after the event so he could share his insight on collaborating with InterWorks on TUG events.

“InterWorks has been a part of the TUG for as long as I can remember, and working with you guys is great! There is always someone there who is willing to jump in and give back. From the analysts who want to speak all the way to the regional representatives, there is always someone from InterWorks there for support.”

Data Discovery Workshops

In both the England and Germany, we featured Data Discovery Workshops. These free, hands-on workshops showed companies how to improve data analysis and visualization within their organizations.

“Our trainers guide participants through several examples, showing the main functionality of the software. This workshop allows attendees to apply what they have learned back in their offices and utilize their free trial license of Tableau to the fullest to access their own data.”
