USA Today had an article on three American economists who were awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for 2013. The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel has been awarded 45 times to 74 laureates between 1969 and 2013.
