Error Message: Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window
If you experience the following error message "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window." when trying to open up Outlook 2007 (and usually see your Outlook screen flash in the background before crashing), I have a fairly quick and painless solution for you.
Here is a screenshot of the error message:

This issue can be caused by a corrupt file that maintains the navigation pane settings. To fix this issue we simply need to open a Run command box (Start > Run) and type in:
Outlook.exe /resetnavpane
After typing that in, Outlook should go back to opening normally again.

Click to get started.

re: can not
Actually, this issue occurs as the current navigation pane in Outlook is not working properly. We can try to use the command "Outlook.exe /resetnavpane" to clear and regenerate the navigation pane for the current Outlook profile.
To run this command, click the Start pearl, in the Search box, type command. Right click on Command Prompt and press Enter. Run the following command in the Command Prompt:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 14\Outlook.exe" /resetnavpane
If the problem persists after this, the best method is to create a new Outlook profile.
Sometimes this error occurs due to the corruption in Outlook .pst file and require some powerful outlook pst repair application to repair the damaged outlook pst file.
