How to Install Shoretel Call Manager on a Terminal Server
We have several clients that want to be able to answer phone calls from the office at home. Luckily, ShoreTel's office anywhere feature does exactly what they need very easily, but here at InterWorks we like to go that extra step and make things a functional as possible. That's why we will install Shoretel Call Manager on Windows Terminal server. Now our clients can have access to everything the shoretel system has to offer no matter where they are. Here are the steps to get Call Manager installed on a Windows Terminal Server.
- Log into the terminal server and install the Call Manager Client as usual. Do not open it up yet.
- Go to the Windows Control Panel. Open the Phone and Modem Options>Advanced tab. Remove all ShoreTel providers.
- Copy the "TspInstall.exe" from the ShoreTel Server to your terminal server. You should be able to find it in Program Files > Shoreline Communications > ShoreWare Server.
- Next open up the command prompt and type this TSPinstall -i StServer <your server name>. Make sure to replace <your server name> with the name or IP address of your ShoreTel server.
Now you are free to work from home, beside the pool, or at your favorite coffee joint. The dark ages of being stuck in an office to answer the phone, or make calls are gone. So, Get out there and enjoy your new found freedom.
