Brian Richards

Network Technician

As a child Brian always enjoyed taking things apart and learning how they work. “I got my start in computers in the early 80’s when my dad brought home an original IBM PC from work; one of the first in OKC,” he claimed. While still in grade school Brian begged his parents to buy an Atari 800, which they finally did. “I was very involved in BBS’s and was online just about every night on weekends and during the summer as a teenager. This hobby eventually turned into my career.” In the mid 90s Brian began earning IT certifications and pursuing a degree in telecommunications. He landed his first IT job more than 10 years ago and quickly rose through the ranks from intern to systems engineer. He recently decided to get into IT consulting as a career move to build on his experience.

Currently in his free time, Brian enjoys activities with his wife and two sons. He can be found doing anything from fishing to exploring new places. One activity he and his kids particularly enjoy is Geocaching. “Geocaching is an outdoor game where you use a GPS to find hidden containers which contain a logbook for you to sign and small toys to trade out for the kids. If you take something from the Cache, you have to leave something for the next person. There are over 3000 geocaches in OKC alone, and most people don’t even know they are there.”
