Hosted E-Mail Migration - Tuesday 12/8/2009

Update - 12/9/2009 3:45 AM - The migration has been completed and all services have been restored.
Known Issue: If your e-mail client duplicated some messages in your inbox upon the first load of your mail client, this is due to you having your mail left on the server. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the fastest resolution is to delete the duplicated messages. If you continue seeing duplicates, please turn off the "leave messages on the server" setting, process a send/receive, and then turn the setting back on.
The old mail server is still accessible via POP3 at oldmail.inboxinc.com and webmail at http://oldmail.inboxinc.com:8383 and will remain online until 1/9/2010.
Initial Announcement
InterWorks, Inc. will be performing some much needed maintenance on their e-mail server overnight on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. This maintenance primarily includes migrating all hosted e-mail to a new server and replacing the mail software. We have tested the migration process and you should not need to make any changes to your e-mail applications.
The current e-mail server runs an older version of IMail from IPSwitch. After a thorough review of reliability and available features, we have decided to switch over to SmarterMail from SmarterTools. The primary benefits are:
- Improved webmail
- Improved built in antivirus and antispam
- Webmail calendaring
- Increased reliability
Any mail sitting in your mailbox on the current server will be migrated to the new server. The changes are scheduled to take place at 10:00 PM CST on Tuesday December 8, 2009. All mail services will be taken offline, and the new server will be brought online by 7:00 AM CST on Wednesday December 9, 2009. We anticipate the migration taking less time than the window allows. The old mail server will remain online for 30 days just in case it needs to be accessed. Even though we are migrating the mail, we strongly advise webmail only users to create a backup of their e-mail

An additional heads-up, in addition to this migration, our hosting servers will be physically moving from one data center to another next weekend (12/11-12/13). There will be down time involved in this move. Another announcement will be sent with more information.
