The Story Behind the Remix

This week, InterWorks is unveiling our theme for Tableau Conference 2018: “Remix Your Data Experience.” Deciding on a theme was a process spread out over the better part of a year, and it’s an immense delight to finally be able to share it with the data community. Countless conversations, brainstorming sessions, revisions and questions paved the path to “Remix,” so to discuss what the theme really means to us, we’ve created a video communicating the heart of InterWorks and what led us to our TC18 theme:

Why Remix

When considering the best solutions for your data, there are numerous possibilities. What tools should you utilize? What platforms should you incorporate? Do you have to take steps in a conventional way, or is there a new way to explore? There are infinite combinations you can use in your business. For us, the key is to tailor the experience to you—to find your perfect mix of solutions.

What does this have to do with TC18? We at InterWorks want to create a mixtape (of sorts) of data solutions. What’s the best part of a mixtape? It’s customized specifically for you! We want to help you and your organization map out the right combination of tools, solutions, training and strategy to help you achieve data greatness, then flip over to the B side and do it all again.

Behind the Branding

If you’re familiar with InterWorks and our approach to the Tableau Conference (the largest gathering of Tableau rockstars in the world), we take the event very seriously while also having a ton of fun with our branding and swag. It’s our chance annually to connect with customers and new friends alike. This year, when we considered our experiences with clients and what made our connections with them special, we realized it was the idea that every client is different, so the solutions we work on with them should reflect that. What makes InterWorks unique is that we do this like no other Tableau partner. Our solutions start with our people: some of the brightest (and honestly, some of the most thoughtful) minds in the data industry. We use our team’s collective knowledge and grit to become the trusted friend you need in your data journey.

This theme is special to us for a lot of reasons, and we wanted to create branding that would resonate and capture its same unique spirit. Here at InterWorks, we always try to be ahead of the curve, pushing boundaries and staying right on the cutting edge of technology for our clients. Interestingly, our campaign for TC18 is a clear hearkening back to the past. Inspired by ‘80s and ‘90s motifs, we sought to create an aesthetic as distinct as the customers we serve. The imaging is eye-catching and full of stark contrasts that still blend together smoothly. This parallels what we strive to do in our work: find the right resources and bring them together in the perfect customization for you.

Who are we kidding? We also needed an excuse to get some sweet fanny packs. The nostalgia of the throwback vibes paired with our fun team and one-of-a-kind solutions is what we hope starts an unforgettable experience for you when we meet at the Tableau Conference this year.
